ProdLib Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Registration

To use our software or service, a user must first complete the registration form. During the registration you are required to give certain information (such as name, email address and other contact information). This information is used to contact you about the products/services in which you have expressed interest in. Why do you need to register? We must be able to identify users to have the right understanding about the quantity and location of the users. It is crucial for our business model to be able to justify our customers that we have a lot of users and they use the libraries we provide.

Cookies

Like many websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to collect additional website usage data. When you first visit our web site, a cookie is sent to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer or mobile device. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service and to better understand how people use our sites. We do this by storing user preferences in cookies and by tracking user trends and patterns of how people navigate our sites. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features or services on our sites may not function properly without cookies

Information about downloaded data

Each time you retrieve a file to your computer through the ProdLib software or web site, information about the retrieved data is stored on our servers. The data consists of the ProdLib product id, quantity, country and the calendar month. If you downloaded a whole library through the Library manager, we track the information about what libraries you have downloaded. However, we never collect any information about the actual design project you are working on. The data is collected to provide us and our customers information about their content and regional needs. This will help us and them to develop the service by providing users the offering of the content they need.

How we use our data

Newsletters

You will receive e-mail newsletters informing you about new supplier content or updates available. Additionally, you will receive information about new versions and features of the software.

Each newsletter will contain a link, which can be used to unsubscribe the receiver's email from the mailing list.

Data analysis

Our database contains information about people, where they are located and the date when they registered. Our database also contains information about which products have been downloaded/inserted, where and when. This information provides us a powerful tool to analyse the market and to target our marketing efforts. We can show our customers that their content is used in a certain extent. We can compare the effect of sending a newsletter to a certain area and the number of downloads following it. We can use the data to create forecasts by extrapolating trends and generate all kinds of other data analysis reports. We also send reports to our customers (content suppliers) to provide them information about how their products are downloaded globally per country. They can use this information to evaluate what products are needed. They can plan their future marketing efforts and content creation based on the current usage of the content.

How we share information

After you have registered, your contact information will be shared with our customers (content suppliers). Each supplier whose content you have downloaded will be able to see your full contact information, and they will be able to send you news and other information through your e-mail. This is why our database contains information about what libraries have been downloaded with your account. Any company that holds a file of personal data, must follow some rules and legislation. For example, a company must have a 'Description of the file' and the 'Privacy Policy' available for anyone to see. Usually it's available on the company's web site. If we share any personal data from our database to third parties, we make sure that they also follow the legislation and good principles. We never sell directly any personal data to any third parties.

Information security

We are committed to ensuring that your personal data is secure. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to secure the personal data we collect. All the personal data you provide us is stored in a secure computing environment protected by secure firewalls to prevent unauthorized access. We control access so that only people who need to access the personal data can. When you use our website or our software, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol with 128-bit encryption in all network traffic. This means that all the information sent between your computer and our secure computer environment is encrypted or scrambled so that no one can read it in transit. If the service is using a password for the user authentication, the password is never stored anywhere in plain text.

Accessing and Modifying Your Personal Information

You can at any time request us to provide you all the information that is stored in the database and connected to your user account. You can also request us to modify or remove all the information regarding your account. Please send all such requests to info@prodlib.com
