ProdLib’s Configurators and Customer Service Earn Praise from Lehtovuori

Lehtovuori, a Finnish company that designs and manufactures urban furniture such as waste bins, bike racks and shelters, and solar-powered smart waste bins (CitySolar), has been very satisfied with ProdLib since adopting the service in 2021.

“In 2019, we started distributing models of our products, and when I became Lehtovuori's Product and Marketing Director the following year, I realized we needed to expand our products in BIM models. ProdLib had caught my attention, and we decided to implement it after recognizing its great potential for the future, especially in our goal to be a leader in the urban furniture sector,” says Antti Kinnunen, Lehtovuori’s Export Business Director.

One of the main benefits of ProdLib for Lehtovuori has been its strong connections with Finnish architectural firms. On top of that, ProdLib’s flexibility has been a big advantage, making it easy and cost-effective to create product configurations.

“Of course, an IT company could have customized various features for tens of thousands of euros, but with ProdLib, we’ve been able to achieve the same results easily and at a much lower cost,” Kinnunen explains.

ProdLib’s integration with Autodesk Revit and other design software used by architects and designers has been a significant plus, along with the availability of detailed product datasheets. However, the feature that has impressed Lehtovuori the most is ProdLib’s configurators.

“We use ProdLib configurators for our bike racks, shelters, and various canopy structures. These configurators automatically create designs that fit specific spaces, which is extremely helpful in design work.”

When comparing ProdLib to competing services, Kinnunen highlights several advantages. “The configurator functionality is excellent, and ProdLib is more affordable in the long run. The models it produces are of higher quality and lighter in file size. ProdLib’s customer service is also much better. We still use another global service provider, but ProdLib’s strengths are clear,” says Kinnunen.

ProdLib has exceeded Lehtovuori’s expectations. One of Lehtovuori’s main hopes was that having their products on ProdLib would lead to new sales—and it has. Kinnunen notes that most digital services take one to two years to start generating sales, but with ProdLib, the timeline was much shorter. The first request for a quote came just a couple of weeks after the customer downloaded the models—and that sale alone covered the entire investment.

Lehtovuori has been especially pleased with ProdLib’s high-quality and fast customer service.

“Whenever we’ve needed help or if a customer requested a model that was missing, we’ve received it very quickly. ProdLib offers fast, flexible, and personalized service,” Kinnunen concludes.

In October 2024, ProdLib expanded its services to the Nordic region, including Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, providing architects and designers in the region with essential design materials such as BIM and CAD objects. ProdLib specializes in creating high-quality BIM objects of manufacturers' products, enabling architects and designers to easily integrate these products into their projects.

With this expansion, ProdLib offers its expertise and resources to the Nordic market, enhancing the availability of high-quality design tools and fostering stronger collaboration between manufacturers and the design community.
